*Never leave a burning candle unattended.

*Burn candle until pool of wax reaches outer rim. This is necessary
every time you burn your candle. If you blow it out too soon, the
size of the wax pool will be the size of the hole in the candle
forever. If your candles have thick walls and will not stay lit, you are
under burning them.

*To get the wax pool to the edge of the candle, the candle must be
burned at least one hour for every inch in diameter. For example,
a 2"x6" or 2"x9" should burn at least two hours, and a 3"x6" should
burn at least three hours. Under burning candles will greatly
reduce the candle's life.

*If burned correctly, our 2"x3", 2"x6" or 2"x9" will burn 10-15 hours
per inch of length, and our 3"x3" and 3"x6" will burn
20-25 hours per inch of length.

*Keep your candle out of any draft to provide optimal burning
results. If you cannot avoid placing your candle in a draft, try
turning the candle 180 degrees every hour or so to compensate.

*Always burn candle when the room temperature is above 50
degrees. Do not light candle until it has reached room
temperature. It could crack from the heat/cold difference.

*Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4".

*Do not place your candle in a small room with no air.
Flames need oxygen. If you do so, you will get smoke.

*Place candle on a non-flammable surface.

Filling your Essoya Rock Candle:
Carefully remove the wick and glass insert from the rock. Place funnel inside hole. Slowly pour oil (do not overfill) into funnel and allow it to drain into the reservoir.
Replace the wick and glass, twisting slightly as you slide it back in. You can reuse the bottle included to refill your rock candle to help prevent spill or overfilling.
Burning and Caring for your Essoya Rock Candle:
When filled with oil, your rock candle will burn approximately 3-5 hours. The design of this rock candle is to burn the amount of oil in the reservoir completely during each
use. Un-consumed oil that remains in the reservoir after a burning will tend to slowly wick up onto the stone through the wick.Although any oil that wicks up will evaporate
away as the stone warms up with no damage to the stone, we recommend you let your candle burn until extinction. It helps if you just pour in the amount of oil that you
intend to use at a sitting. The height of the candle flame can be adjusted by allowing more or less of the wick to protrude out of the glass collar. If more of the wick sticks out,
the flame will burn higher. A higher flame is best for outdoor burning as it will not blow out easily from the wind. For indoor burning, it is better if you set up a smaller wick
which will provide you with a virtually smoke free flame. If flame smokes, it’s too high.
As with all open flames, do not leave your home with the candle alight. *Do not fill with oil until you are ready to use, then burn it dry or turn upside down to empty.
Oil sitting in container longer than necessary may cause bottom to loosen. The wick is fiberglass and will not burn away. It should never need to be replaced or trimmed.
