Spearmint Essential Oil (Organic) - is a refreshing and invigorating scent. Spearmint is a wonderful small herb plant that grows small, spear-shaped leaves. It is milder than peppermint, and softer in aroma. Spearmint essential oil can alleviate headaches and can help with respiratory problems. Spearmint is safer for pregnant women and young children than peppermint. Spearmint is a native of the Mediterranean area. A hardy perennial herb, Spearmint reaches about 1 meter (3 feet) in height. It has characteristic lance-shaped leaves with pink or lilac-colored flowers. Mentha spicata (Spear Mint or Spearmint) is a species of mint native to much of Europe and southwest Asia, though its exact natural range is uncertain due to extensive early cultivation.[citation needed] It grows in wet soils. It is an invasive species in the Great Lakes region where it was first sighted in 1843. |
